The Young Progressives Party’s flag-bearer in the next year’s gubernatorial election in Abia State –  Engr. Enyinnaya Chima Nwafor – has expressed dismay over the intense flooding that swept through the Agbaja, Okwoko and Ukwa Nkporo communities in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State that left scores displaced.

Nwafor said the natural disaster at Nkporo was unfortunate and “capable of leaving traces of losses, sometimes of immeasurable magnitude.”

Nwafor, who’s also the founder of Each One Aid One Foundation, encouraged the affected communities to be strong and “of good cheer even in the face of devastation,” promising to send help their way as soon as possible.

“I encourage you all to stay out of harm’s way,” Nwafor said. “I assure you that a team from Each One Aid One Foundation will visit your communities to ascertain appropriate, quick interventions and materials that would cushion the effects of the disaster with a view to providing and distributing the relief materials.”

Nwafor had great sympathy for the flood victims and prayed God to cause the disaster not to occur again so the affected communities could be spared further devastation.

“My thoughts and prayers are with you, the good people of Nkporo, at this trying time. Our faith in God will neither quake nor quiver,” Nwafor said.
