The new Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nyesom Wike, has vowed that buildings distorting the master plan of Abuja would be pulled down.

Speaking Monday with journalists immediately after he was sworn into office, the immediate past governor of oil-rich Rivers State said:

“Those people who are distorting the master plan of Abuja, too bad. Refuse everywhere. If you know you’ve built where you are not suppose to build, it will go down. Be a minister of anywhere, be an ambassador. If you know you have developed where you are not suppose to develop, your house must go down. Let me tell you, that period of land racketing is over.”

Wike also warned land speculators. He said some persons had collected Certificate of Ownership for years but refused to build.

“Sorry, your land is gone,” Wike said.

Earlier, Wike assured President Bola Tinubu that he would not regret tapping him for a ministerial role.
