Eight Nigerian-Americans won elective posts in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Minnesota and the District of Columbia (DC) in the just-concluded US midterm elections.

They are Segun Adeyina, Gabe Okoye, Solomon Adesanya, Tish Naghise, Phil Olaleye, Carol Kazeem, Oye Owolewa and Esther Agbaje.

The politicians all won legislative seats as state representatives in their respective districts on Tuesday.

President Muhammad Buhari has congratulated them for making Nigeria proud.

He also wished them well in their political contributions to the US.
