A farmer in Jigawa State of Nigeria, identified simply as Dubore, has found a newborn baby concealed inside a carton and abandoned on his farm in Gwaram Local Council of the state.
The farmer said he found the baby alive in the morning of Sunday Sept. 24.
According to The Guardian (Nigeria) newspaper, upon discovery of the baby, the farmer immediately reported it to the village head of Wurya in Gwaram Tsohuwa.
An aide to the Gwaram Local Council Chairman, Alhaji Tamaji Gwaram, has confirmed the incident, adding that the child was taken to the Divisional Police Officer of Gwaram for further action.
The police took the baby to the hospital and confirmed that his health status was right, he said.
