Suspected terrorists Tuesday attacked the convoy of Audu Madaki, the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, in charge of Zone 12 with headquarters in Bauchi, injuring him and killing one of his guards.
The AIG was on his way to Abuja from Bauchi when the suspected terrorists ambushed and attacked him and his convoy between Barde and Jagindi area of Kaduna State around 2.30 p.m.
Madaki was shot and injured during the attack while his orderly was shot dead, a source in his office said.
The AIG is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital while security has been beefed up around Zone 12.
Police are combing through the bush area where the incident occurred with a view to capturing the terrorists.
