A man in Masaka in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Nigeria, on Monday stabbed his father to death due to a quarrel over a portion of land.

Tunde Badejo killed his father, Badejo Idowu, because he wouldn’t give him a piece of their family land he had been asking him for in the last one year.

The deceased’s wife, Tolani Badejo, said her husband had asked Tunde to be patient and give him time to fairly apportion the land between him and the other members of the family.

“He had been on my husband’s neck for the land since last year,” Tolani said. “So during their last argument on Monday, he pulled out a knife and stabbed his father several times on the head, neck, chest, hands and legs which killed him. I raised alarm and he fled.”

Ayomide Badejo, the second son of the deceased, said the case had been reported to the police and that his father’s body had been deposited in the mortuary.
