Two Nollywood actors – Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel also know as Agbogidi – have been abducted, reports say.

Monalisa Chinda, who’s the director of communications of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, disclosed this to the media on Friday.

Chinda said the actors were reported missing after their families confirmed they had not returned from a film location at Ozalla in Enugu State.

“The two members were suspected of having been kidnapped, which has increased fear amongst members about the safety of actors filming in the country,” Chinda said. “Because of this sad development, the National President of the Guild, Ejezie Emeka Rollas, has instructed all actors to avoid going to the outskirt of cities to film except full security cover is provided to ensure their safety.”

Rollas also expressed shock at the news and urged security agencies to hasten investigations that would lead to the actors’ safe rescue.

He equally appealed for prayers for the safe return of the actors.
