Nnaji Obed Asiegbu’s bid to serve Ohuhu as a state legislator received a boost yesterday when the youth, leaders and the representatives of all the villages in Okaiuga Nkwoegwu (from all political divides) converged to affirm their resolve to support him in his quest.

Speaking at the gathering, which was held at Nkemji Lounge, Nkwoegwu, a youth leader from Nkata Alike, Onyebuchi Obioma, addressed the youth, intimating them that the purpose of the rally was to drum wide support for Nnaji Obed Asiegbu, the Young Progressives Party, YPP’s, House of Assembly candidate.

Obioma described Obed Asiegbu as a competent candidate who would deliver good governance to Ohuhu when elected.

Responding, the youth, through a voice vote, unanimously pledged to throw their full weight behind Obed Asiegbu’s aspiration to represent Ohuhu at the Abia State House of Assembly.

In separate speeches, the youth leaders and representatives noted that the YPP candidate is a resourceful leader who had shown capacity on several occasions, endearing him to all and sundry, especially the youth.

They, therefore, pledged to give him their massive support across the board regardless of their party leanings or affiliations.

Contributing, a youth leader from Umuochi, Chika Okeiyi, said that their unanimous decision to support Obed Asiegbu was borne out of the mutual relationship that exists between him and Nkwoegwu youth, maintaining that party affiliations no longer guarantees support for candidates at the polls, rather that the individual’s credibility is the determining factor in who gets elected and who does not.

Okeiyi charged the Okaiuga Nkwoegwu youth to get involved in politics so they can contribute in changing the political narrative of the country.

Speaking, Jolly Odimuko, a youth leader from Umuosu, described Obed Asiegbu as a credible candidate who possesses the attributes typical of a great leader.

Reinforcing his firm commitment to the Obedient Obed cause, Odimuko urged the youth to solicit more support for the YPP candidate in their various domains.

Nkwoegwu YPP Ward Chairman Kingsley Nwosu also spoke at the gathering. While canvassing support for Obed Asiegbu, he stated that the party had come to change the political narrative of Abia state. He urged the youth to join the YPP and support its candidates in the general elections.

The gathering had in attendance youth leaders and representatives from all the villages that make up Okaiuga Nkwoegwu.
