Pop artiste Portable said he was paid by the All Progressives Congress – APC – to endorse its presidential flag-bearer – Bola Tinubu.

This followed the backlash he received on social media platforms after he declared support on Instagram for the APC in the Osun State gubernatorial election slated for Saturday.

In the video posted Wednesday, Portable also urged Nigerians to vote for Tinubu in next year’s presidential election in Nigeria.

Reacting to the criticism, Portable fired back, stating he was only doing his job as the ruling party had paid him to support its candidates.

Portable once said he was paid to insult Tinubu.

Now, he’s saying: “If they pay you money, you have to work. I was once paid to insult Tinubu during the protests. That was a long time ago. Now, APC has said Akoi Tinubu,” the artiste, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola, said in Yoruba.

“If they pay you, do your job, no ripping. When I was asked to insult Tinubu, I collected my money and did my job. Now Tinubu is next. They’re the ones that gave me money, and I must do the work for the money I collected. Akoi APC.”
