A beauty pageant contestant was electrocuted on Sunday in Mexico.

Twenty-two-year-old Andrea Granados was on stage competing in the Miss Sahuayo 2022 contest in Michoacán when the incident happened, reports say.

According to the Daily Mail, she was barefoot and wearing a traditional outfit covered in colourful feathers when she walked up to the microphone stand.

And as she grabbed the mic to try to speak to the crowd, Granados was shocked, culminating in her falling back and holding her hand.

She tried to let go off the mic but couldn’t.

She fell backwards on the stage in front of the stunned crowd.

Granados was lying on her back and managed to separate the microphone and wire to get it off her before pageant workers rushed down to her side to help her walk off the stage, according to the report.

Granados was lucky to have only walked away with a burn on her hand.

She even got back on stage to cheers.

“I came backed recharged, literally,” she later said on social media.
