Duke and Duchess of Sussex no more?
The issue of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s titles and whether they should be stripped of them is being discussed “at the highest level.”
In a new book from royal writer Robert Jobson, palace aides blamed the former Suits star for Harry’s fallout with his family, calling the ginger prince a “hostage” and “victim of Stockholm syndrome.”
Others, including some senior officials, find fault with Harry who “turned his back on everything he has known,” the Daily Mail reported.
“Our King: Charles III — The Man And The Monarch Revealed,” has new details on the fractured relationships between Harry, Meghan and the rest of the Royal Family.
“Some blame Meghan Markle for the fallout, ignoring the fact that Harry seems to be the driving force in everything that happened,” one senior aide told Jobson, according to the outlet.
“There was a point when officials joked Harry was the victim of Stockholm syndrome, and he was Meghan’s hostage, but now most just feel Harry has turned his back on everything he has known.”
Another insider brought up how Harry reacted upon Queen Elizabeth’s passing, noting while many of the main royal players arrived at Balmoral Castle around 5 p.m. on the day of her death, he didn’t show up until three hours later.
Harry reportedly wanted Meghan to join him, but when that was shut down, he chose to fly separately from brother Prince William following the dispute, according to the book.
One source claimed Harry’s demands “did not go down well with the family – they were all shocked by his behaviour.”
Harry, however, maintained that he was not invited to fly with the Royal Family to Scotland when the Queen died.
The book claims King Charles is “deeply saddened by the widening gulf between him and his youngest son” and wishes he could see more of his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet.
But Charles could be bowing to “increasing pressure” to demote the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to “Mr. and Mrs. Mountbatten-Windsor of Montecito, Calif.”
The excerpts come less than a month from Charles’ coronation.
Harry and Meghan have yet to reveal if they will be attending as the King’s coronation which falls on the same day as Archie’s fourth birthday.
