In his capacity as the vice-chancellor of the Abia State University (ABSU), Uturu, Prof. Onyemachi Maxwell Ogbulu led the Senate of the institution on a solidarity and endorsement visit to late Prof. Uche Ikonne (former ABSU vice-chancellor) when the later was handpicked as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party – PDP.

To secure his vice-chancellorship and a prominent seat on the Abia State table of thievery, Prof. Ogbulu hoodwinked the school’s Senate to dole a marrow-chilling sum of N300, 000, 000 (three hundred million naira) drawn from students’ school fees in support of Prof. Ikonne’s candidature.

In other words, Prof. Ogbulu gifted the PDP the whopping sum of 300 million naira in support of Prof. Ikonne’s candidature.

Prof. Ikonne, unfortunately, died.

PDP failed and failed woefully.

The Abia State Government has not been religious in giving ABSU the monthly subvention of 100 million naira.

Now, Prof. Ogbulu is cash-strapped in running the school. To square up, he has to squeeze poor students whose parents are being owed years of salaries and pensions.
